THANK GOD IT'S FINALLY BREAK!

As promised, here is my post, thanking God that it is finally Christmas break. Not only, however, is it Christmas break, but it's CHRISTMAS day!!!

I do not have much time to write as I am soon traveling to a family gathering, but I wanted to wish everybody a very merry Christmas! I do hope that your day is filled with family, food, friends, laughter, and love :]

Until next time,
Happy Holidays!

P.S. T-minus 3 days until I travel to Chicago to see THEE sickest band ever...UMPHREY'S MCGEE!

Finally Feeling the Turbo

It is currently T-minus 15 days until I walk away from my last final of the semester, and all of the sudden, 15 days is not seeming like enough time. Just a few days ago I wanted it to be finals week because I simply had no motivation to exert any energy toward studying. However, I am finally feelin' the turbo. Hopefully somebody knows what I'm talking about...

...ya know, it's when the finish-line is near and you know it's crunch time so you get a sudden burst of energy, knowing that a reward (aka Christmas break!) is within arms reach...

So, although I have nothing to show for myself yet, I am proud to say that I finally am motivated to look through my exam materials and push for those good grades! Worth posting? Probably not.

Next post: THANK GOD IT'S FINALLY BREAK! :] Talk to you then...

First Post...and First Pies!

So my original intent on having this blog (ew) was to merely stay up-to-date with reading a friend of mine's post as they are out of the country...but I was then told that even if my current day-to-day is boring, it's still worth writing about so here we go!

Today was Thanksgiving! I hope everybody ate too much and enjoyed time with family and friends. As my post title suggests, I made homemade pumpkin pies for the first time this year! I was so proud, and it was a good bonding time for my grandma and I. She started out telling me ingredient by ingredient how to make the pies, but by the end, I was getting a little confident and started "improvising" :] The family said they turned out great, though, so that was exciting!

Aside from all the food, laughter was in abundance as well. Anytime my family gets all together it is basically a guarantee for a good time. We sat around the table and told hundreds of side-splitting stories, ranging from when my aunts/mom were younger all the way to now with stories about my cousins/siblings.

My mom, dad, brother, and sister were not able to attend the family Thanksgiving, however, as they are all in New York with the Lincoln High School Band. But I got to watch them in the Macy's Day Parade this morning on TV and I'm positive they're having a blast.

To wrap things up, here are a few things that make me thankful...
*support, laughter, and love of family and good friends
*opportunity to get a good education
*being blessed enough to actually HAVE food for Thanksgiving
*a warm home

Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
